Pet Microchipping
Pet microchipping offers a reliable and professional means of ensuring your pet’s safety, providing peace of mind through a lasting form of identification.
Pet Microchipping
It is easy to microchip a dog or a cat. A pet microchip the size of a grain of rice is injected by a doctor beneath the skin of your pet’s shoulder blades. The procedure is comparable to that of a shot and only takes a few seconds. No anesthesia is necessary.
At Family Pet Clinic, we offer the AVID microchip, which is an integrated transponder that is contained in a biocompatible glass capsule that serves to prevent tissue irritation and microchip migration. Each microchip has a unique identification number, is permanent, and will last the life of your pet. When your pet is registered in a pet recovery database, the identification number links your pet to your contact information. This means that if your pet ever gets lost, one quick scan will identify who your pet belongs to — making the odds of them coming back home that much better.
